You have that site on-line for quite a while, its generating a good number of hits every day and you're thinking whether or not to use AdSense advertising on it to make it generate some form of income. But then you have to ask yourself about making money with adsense

Well this is a description of the pros and cons of this approach to Internet advertising. AdSense has definitely hit the Internet like something from another planet and people are very excited about it everywhere. There are negative aspects to Adsense and alternatives to consider.

AdSense is generally a great tool for webmasters. Whereas, they would use to worry about how to raise enough money to keep their sites profitable, or at least keep them on-line those worries are gone. On the other hand, some facts might be complicated like SEO Keyword research or SEO Rankings

AdSense allows webmasters to forget about those worries and concentrate on creating good content for their sites. In fact, the emphasis is now on creating quality content (often associated with the top-paying words) which will bring you many visitors.

AdSense can also very well integrated with your website, it's easily customizable in terms of colors, size and position which means you can experiment with it in any way you like to maximize your income.

AdSense is a very good means of generating a constant revenue on your site. All you need to do is create some quality content and keep it updated constantly and you can literally live off your website. A lot of people are doing just that nowadays with AdSense, so it's become sort of a business in itself.

It's also a great program because you can have the same account advertising on all your pages. This is great for webmasters wit a lot of content because it means they don't have to create many accounts unnecessarily.

But as stated, above, there are some negative aspects to advertising with AdSense and here's a small list of such cons.

Clearly the largest negative impact the AdSense program can have on you is through Google closing your accounts. Most of the time this happens because of so called 'click fraud', which means somebody would be producing artificial clicks on your page.

There's one really nasty side to that. It doesn't have to be you making those artificial clicks. It could very well be your competition doing this in order to shut you down, or the competitor of whoever is advertising on your page, looking to drive their marketing costs up.

The earning AdSense brings you are by no means constant. In fact, they're not even close to that. Anything you do to your site could end up being a big mistake costing you a great deal of money. It's that kind of pressure that has a negative impact on you.

First of all, you constantly need to make sure your site is in the spotlight of search engines when people are searching for whatever it is your site is about.

If you fail to do that you won't have any visitors, and that of course means you won't have any AdSense revenue. In a way this is nothing new, as any form of generating revenue on the Internet with advertising has such a drawback.

And finally, another major problem is that you constantly have to feed your site with better and better content. Now, of course, certain sites are very well geared towards doing this but with some types of content this is rather hard to achieve. This is often why the services of a copywriter are employed to generate more and more content.

When writing original content, the best thing a website owner can do is research a topic thoroughly and then return to writing with lots of information they can out in their own words, and show their own opinion on.

So there are the pros and cons of using the AdSense network for generating profits through advertising. Now the choice of whether or not these work for you is yours.

Fundamentally, keyword density is the number of times a targeted keyword is used in the web page content. It's normally expressed as a percentage of all of the words on the page. Keyword density plays a major role in helping the search engines understand what the page is about, otherwise known as relevancy. Your site could be considered spam or artificial if a keyword phrase is used too often causing the search engines to not display it in search results. Many people utilize keyword density to help them with search engine optimization which is another subject for another day.

Here is how to calculate the keyword's density on a web page. Let’s say your content is an article which contains 100 words (do not include any html code), your target keyword appears in the article 5 times. Simply divide the number of times the keyword appears (5) by the total number of words (100) to get an answer of .05. This would translate into 5%. To find the percentage simply multiply our answer (.05) by 100 which equals 5 or 5 percent.

The general consensus of an acceptable optimum keyword density is between 3 and 5 percent, in order for the search engines to recognize the keyword and know what the page is about. If you ever exceed 5 percent, keep in mind your page may get de-indexed and considered a spam site.

Also remember, this applies to all keywords on all web pages. Always ensure that each page of your site and its keyword or keywords stay within the optimum 3-5% and you site should be okay.

Easy Way to Check Word Counts on a Web Page

Highlight all of the content text on your web page and copy it, then paste it into a word processor such as Open Office or Microsoft Word and then look for the total word count. If not, some word processor's have a word count function up in the menu's. Now that you have the total word count, you can use the "find" feature from the upper menu and enter your keyword to find. After it finds the first one use "find next" and just keep count of how many keywords it finds. Now that you have a keyword total, use the formulas above to figure out the density percentage.

When people refer to “organic SEO” (search engine optimization), they almost always use it as a blanket term to describe the unpaid, algorithm-driven results of any particular engine. However, a sophisticated search engine optimization company will often take the meaning of “organic” one step further. To such companies, the description of “organic SEO” is not to limited what shows up in the “natural” search engine results – it includes the methodologies used to achieve such rankings. There’s more than one way to skin a cat (although I must admit that I don’t know the one way that everyone else presumably knows), and the same is true for achieving natural search engine results. A search engine optimization company usually falls into one of two camps. A “White Hat” search engine optimization company will use a largely content-based approach and will not violate the terms of service of the major search engines. A “Black Hat” search engine optimization company will use a largely technology driven approach and often ignore the terms of service. Neither approach is invalid (as I have said many times before, there is nothing illegal about violating a search engine’s terms of service), and both can achieve high rankings. But a search engine optimization company that takes the word “organic” literally believes that the “Black Hat” approach is anything but “organic SEO.” Merriam Webster defines organic, in part, as “having the characteristics of an organism: developing in the manner of a living plant or animal.” To a search engine optimization company, this definition accurately describes the approach taken to achieve long-lasting results in the “natural” section of search engines. Below are just a few comparisons of the different approaches taken by the two types of SEO firms. I refer to the two approaches as “organic SEO” and “artificial SEO” for the sake of clarity. Content vs. Technical Loopholes There’s an “old” saying in the SEO industry that “content is king.” This is not necessarily true. In my experience, good content is king. Study after study has shown that when people use search engines, they are primarily seeking one thing: information. They are not seeking to be impressed by fancy flash sites. They are not looking for a virtual piece of art. A search engine optimization company that is truly practicing “organic SEO” recognizes this fact and will refuse SEO work when prospects insist that content addition is not an option. “Artificial SEO” firms, which embrace a technical loophole philosophy, will allow a company to leave its website exactly as it is, because the work that such firms do is largely technical and is designed to trick the engine into showing content that it would not otherwise. Certainly, there are acceptable (from the engine’s standpoint) technical aspects that any good search engine optimization company will use, such as relevant page titles and meta tags. But there are many more unacceptable technical methodologies than acceptable ones, including cloaking, redirects, multiple sites, keyphrase stuffing, hidden links, and numerous others. A company practicing “organic SEO” will avoid these. If you are looking for professional link building or for professional link building experts or if you want to read professional link building articles – then you are at the right place.

Much has been said about keywords and how important they are if one is to market his business successfully online. There have been many tips, advice and recommendations made and sometimes, the task itself of sorting through these must-do’s is huge and requires a lot of precious time. If you just want a quick run-through of all these, which should be enough to get the message across, read on. The first basic thing to do for any Internet marketer is to assign tracking ID’s for each keyword. This is very easy with the use a simple Excel document where you can list down keywords and designate an ID for each one so they could be tracked effectively. A good idea would also be to link each of the keywords to a separate URL. When choosing your keywords, it’s always best to base on the product type instead of a brand name. For example, if you’re selling Nokia cellphones, using “cellphones” will still make you more findable instead of using the brand name. It’s essential to know keyword rankings so you’ll find it necessary to use any of those software or tools that could assist you on this. If you’re marketing something where an applicable keyword could have multiple meanings, make sure you add specifics. For example, the word tracking could mean ad tracking or performance tracking or any other context to which the word, tracking, may be applied. Make sure your keywords are more defined. It’s also not wise to limit them to your ads. By all means, use them generously and markedly in your headlines, body and hyperlinks. A very wise approach is also to advertise only on days when the most pay-per-clicks happen. You can make your research on when PPC’s are generated the least. Stop advertising on these days and focus instead on those when your online ads are hot. And then, when choosing which keywords to go with, it’s necessary to step into the shoes of your product, the industry and your customers. Choose keywords that are relevant. This will have a lot to do with the type of industry you’re in. You will find search engines very helpful in making suggestions. The lingo of your customers is, of course, of prime importance. Every market has its own terminology and it even evolves with time. There are terms today that weren’t there yesterday, so it’s a good move to pick up how customers these days phrase or word what they want. Consumer ratings are something you’ll want to look into. Observe what words or terms they use. These are exactly what you need to consider when choosing keywords. Finally, you’re going to need to invest on an ad tracking software. With this, you will be able to determine exactly how those keywords are doing and, more importantly, you’ll be able measure your return of investment or simply how much those keywords have given you back from what you’ve spent while making sure they’re the best that they can be. This type of software is also effective in doing conversion tracking, which is inarguably valuable as well as website optimization tools you will find very crucial in making sure your campaigns are delivering well.

So you have built your website installed your Google Analytics code and now you are waiting for traffic but it never comes. Don’t worry you are not alone the majority of websites hardly receive any traffic from the search engines. But unfortunately it won’t magically appear. You have to promote your site in the right way to open the traffic flood gates. These 5 tips show you some of the effective methods I use to promote my website for free.

1. Article Writing

This is still a powerful promotion method and traffic generator. However things have changed in recent times. Submitting articles to multiple article directories does not appear to generate large amounts of backlinks to your site. It would appear that Google ignores multiple identical articles with identical backlinks. However if your articles are good enough they will be reprinted on other peoples sites providing a useful backlink and the potential for direct traffic.

2. Writing Unique Articles For Other Web Sites

This great strategy is all to often overlooked. The objective here is to publish unique articles on other peoples blogs or websites with of course a backlink or two to your own site. The best way to do this is to write some good quality articles and get them published in ezinearticles.com. Then wait to see who reprints your article on their website or blog. If their blog has a good pagerank/traffic then get in touch with the website owner and offer to write some more unique content for them for free.

3. Off-Site Blog Posting

Find a few relevant blogs and start writing comments on them on a frequent. This will in itself produce valuable backlinks to your site. Remember to use your main keyword as your name when you submit comments. Make sure your comments add value and even provoke further comments. Then ask the blog owner if you can write a couple of guest posts for him. He will already know the quality of you writing from your previous contributions and is unlikely to turn down your request.

4. On Site Blog Posting

Blogs are really powerful tools with the search engines. So add one to your website and start posting good content every other day. If your blog is set up properly new content will be indexed quickly by the search engines. Make sure that you only write with your keywords in mind. Write a keyword rich title include a link back to your main website within the article body. This will help with your search rankings.

5. Web 2.0 Sites

Use Web 2.0 sites such as Squidoo, Hubpages and Wetpaint to generate off-site unique content which you can then use to provide great backlints to your main website. You can also use the RSS feed features of these sites to link them all together. This will really boost your rankings and search traffic.

These techniques can be used in many ways to generate healthy search engine rankings as well as traffic to your web site. These are just some of the methods that I routinely use to promote websites online with great effect.

Your can find out other effective methods for promoting your website by visiting the silent salesman now.

Top Search Engine Placement Video

One of the things I see lots of Internet Marketers doing is putting their full focus on Google and their search engine rankings, to the exclusion of all other search engines.

At first glance this makes sense because Google do have by far the largest market share i.e. more people use Google for finding what they want on the Internet than any other search engine.

However because more people use it, more advertisers are drawn to it and advertise with Google, so this often brings more competition, and more cost to advertise.

Have you ever considered focusing on some of the less prominent search engine? Or at least putting some focus on them?

Yahoo and MSN are two examples of search engines that still get a considerable number of people using them (obviously not to the level Google does) however, it some cases I have researched there is little and if your really lucky no competition for paid advertising with these search engines in particular niches.

Yep, thats right, it is possible to be the only paid advertiser for a given niche. Of course this can change at any time, and people will get savvier about this as the word gets around.

Imagine if you can get your website listed prominently in these search engines result pages, but also advertising your website using their paid advertising!

Now you will obviously want to ensure you’re also using Google, and focusing on getting good rankings in their search engines results, but don’t ignore these other search engines.

One thing I tell people is to try and bring in as much traffic as you can from as many sources as possible.

I mean would you be happy with 1000 visitors to a day when it quite possibly to increase this by 100% or more by using some of the other traffic sources outlined on this website?

You want as many visitors as possible, don’t you. Sure you want them to be targeted and qualified visitors, and not just random people surfing by (unless you have a fantastic product that everyone in the world would want). If you have such a product let me know, I’d probably want to invest in your company!

When considering finding out more about submit to search engines; it pays to do a little research first as a further way to move forward fast! Watch the sharks out there!

To expand your horizons you just need a little vision. I tell people to spend some time looking at the larger picture and working out where you want your website to be. Always focus on what your site is or looks like from a visitor’s perspective. Great content that is relevant to the visitor will ramp up your sales in no time flat!

Make sure you look into other search engines, there could be a gold nugget just waiting for you to come along and mine!

For website owners social bookmarking demon from Edwin Bryan is cool as a link building tool and for direct visitors Whenever you contribute to a social bookmarking community, you get an opportunity to link to a page of your own, thereby increasing your inbound traffic and earning you higher positions in the results of all the major search engines.

There are plenty of software packages available from online retailers that purport to have this functionality. I’d been curious for a while now if these actually did what they claimed, and if so, whether the end product was worthwhile for most users.

We live in a state where it is extremely difficult to get good rankings for websites. The solution to this problem could exist in the form of an awesome software.

There are so many steps to do this work by hand. First you have to sign up, then confirm the account by email, get the link, paste it in the correct field, type in your description and finally submit.

If you are planning to repeat this sequence manually on over 20 sites, you need to plan between 8-12 hours of work, depending on your typing speed.

So here’s some questions I had about this software and any software for that matter:

Does it solve these big problems?

Is there a way this would work? And if so how?

Would the bookmarks be real and actually show up on the bookmark site?

Would they get approved with the links and comment content going live?

Many questions were dancing in my brain and perhaps they are waltzing through your thoughts at this very moment.

It is an interesting idea but the possibility for spam increasing was likely. After doing some reading I discovered lots of forum threads and blog posts about the “google social bookmarking slapdown”.

Destroy your competitors with bookmark demon.

I was getting scared now and didn’t know what to believe. I had the joy of speaking with a couple of trained and superb marketers. They informed me of a software that they had discovered. It seemed to be working well and barely collected any junk mail.

It was back to square one, which was thrilling in a way, but it was tainted with the lingering fear of whether or not this was my best option. Due to the fact that these individuals had been following it and had received decent outcomes, although if I worked the formula incorrectly what would happen?

I took some time to reflect on it and decided bookmarkingdemon was a good solution for me and recommended bookmarking demon for you too.

You’ve probably heard the old phrase content is king you know? My tests have shown this is B.S.

I realize this report isn’t exactly what you’ve heard before, however it is factual. I will not tell you the names of sites. I have to protect them as they are not mine. But I will tell you why, based on facts that I have learned, one way links are more important than site content.

Here’s the deal I have recently started working for a new client because their pages couldn’t seem to get to the first page of Google so I took the challenge and went to work for them.

The first page I read made me wonder why it was even there. The pages were ill-written, nasty and lacked clarity. It seems that some one who does not know English has ventured it. It is obvious that the work was not well written, unfortunately it is easy to tell that someone was using a content article spinning rewrite program to complete the task.

Due to poor keyword research by the previous SEO guy many of these pages were attempting to compete for very competitive keywords.

A 5 year old could do this good even with only a free article spinner he got in 2 minutes off of download com.

The internal site structure was mixed up, the internal links had errors like ‘home’ as anchor text, the sitemap was missing, and you don’t even want to know what was coming in from other sites.

What is the result then? If content was king, these pages cannot be on the first page of ANY search engine. Why speak of Google? After doing my research, what were the results?

No matter whether they are from low quality websites, all had links to their domain. So then I looked at their sites that couldn’t make it to the first page of Google and found the Same non-English content but NO LINKS.

After copying links from the other pages, it only took two weeks to get my clients’ website on the first page of a Google search results for every single site I did for them.

I wanted to get fast results so I could prove to them I could handle getting quality links of power so that their sites would remain showing up with first page rankings.

Naturally I got the SEO duties. I have also found the secret to SEO rankings with blog marketing and it’s LINKS after LINKS.
