The Power And Benefits Of Targeted Opt In Email Lists

To build a list you need to bring traffic to your website – without you’ll never make any money. With listbuilding essentially being a numbers games, your profitability will largely depend on how big you can make your list.

With a good web site and a good offer for a free gift, even a small trickle of traffic can build your list by 4-5 people per day. That’s 120-150 people on your list in just one month.

Let me give you a little example from my own experience…with just a couple hundred people on one of my lists I made almost ,000 in pure profit with just a little effort. On that basis, that means that 100 people on your list could translate to ,000 if you have a powerful offer.

By the way, if you want a rule of thumb, you can usually generate about per person on with a solid targeted opt in email list. Your niche and marketing skills obviously have a bearing, but plenty of relative newcomers achieve that already, and the gurus far exceed it. But, it’s a good place to start if you’re trying to decide how much effort to apply.

To succeed in building a profitable list though, it’s essential that the traffic that you drive to your website are is relevant to your end goals. You must align their wants and needs to what you’re offering.

Don’t be tempted to buy “bulk or “mass” traffic, however cheap it might see, because 99% of the time you’ll only be wasting your time and money. You could even damage your reputation and get into hot water. The last thing you want to do is spam people. Many people try to figure out the “secret” of list building.

You basically have three ways to generate the type of traffic that you need to build a profitable lists. You can get organic traffic from search engines by using SEO techniques, you can buy traffic by using pay per click systems, such as Google Adwords, or you can joint venture with other list builders. Start off by aiming to master just one of these approaches and, when that is done, add another, and then add the last one. Once you have all three mastered then you’ll be sitting on a goldmine.

Internet Marketing And Permission-Based Email Marketing

When you hear the term “internet marketing“, what do you think of?

For many, that term conjures thoughts of websites or spamming or search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. For others, it’s all about graphical design, writing fancy code or even affiliate programs. All of those answers correct, but the essence of internet marketing is much simpler.

At its core, internet marketing is about these things:

* Understanding the target market to which the product/service/cause you’re marketing will appeal
* Determining exactly how your target market interacts with the internet
* Positioning your content on the internet to attract the attention of your target market
* Collecting information about your target market (also known as “leads”) for follow-up and conversion into sales
* Design of offers or incentives to induce the desired actions from your leads

Since there is insufficient space in this article to give all of these topics adequate attention, let’s focus on just one specific topic with the realm of internet marketing: Email Marketing.

My best payoff has always come by focusing on permission-based email marketing. Permission-based email marketing refers to the practice of collecting information (including email addresses) from website visitors and communicating with them via e-mail with their direct consent. The “permission” aspect of permission-based email marketing is what separates legitimate email marketers from the spammers that everyone despises.

My love of email marketing is strong for one reason: It works very well. Email marketing has been much like a never-ending goldmine: It enables us to produce income on demand simply by sending a good offer to our list. When you have thousands of loyal subscribers – as we do – and you put a strong and compatible offer in front of them, income becomes nearly automatic.

However, the key to successful email marketing is the development of a legitimate trust relationship with your subscribers. If you opt to send your subscribers a request for purchases every single day, they will likely tire of your badgering and cease reading your emails altogether.

Alternatively, if you take the time to provide good content to your readers on a regular and frequent basis, you’ll discover that your readers take all of your emails far more seriously, and as a result your emails will be opened, read and acted upon with greater frequency. Essentially, email marketing is really an exercise in trust.

While there are many more aspects to internet marketing than just permission-based email marketing, email has definitely been the cornerstone on which our business is built.

Even though there are more sides to internet marketing than just email marketing (permission based), email has been the foundation that our business sits on.

Concentrate on one project at a time.  It is so easy to get distracted in the internet marketing world.  News of the latest hyped up products get sent to your inbox every day, and it is really easy to spread yourself thin by working on multiple projects.  When that happens, you end up doing a half assed job on each project.  Finish one project, before moving on the another.  That way you can dedicate all your resources towards finishing it.

Track everything.  A smart affiliate marketer tracks everything he does.  You need to track which keywords people are searching for that come to your site, and which keywords are turning into sales.  If you don’t, how will you ever scale up and make more money?  Use tools like Google Analytics and Prosper202 to do this .  They are both free, so there’s no excuse not to use them.
