SEO and a quick history.

Webmasters and the people who were writing content for websites began to learn how to optimize the websites for search engines back in the early 1990’s when the first search engines were just being born. At first, all a website owner had to do was submit his URL to the search engine. The search engines would then release what is called a spider to crawl the website and then the spider would return to the search engine with links it had taken from the URL that was entered.

As time went on it became apparent to the website owners that it was advantageous to them to have their sites ranking high in the search engine results pages. Here is where white hat and black hat SEO was born. The first time phrase SEO was used was probably back in 1997.

Early search algorithms were helped by the website owners themselves, who provided the information such as key words called Meta tags. The Meta tags give a guide of sorts to the content on the webpage. It was found however that met tags were unreliable for search engines because the webmasters choice of keywords has the potential for being inaccurate and therefore lead someone to the page and not finding what was tagged on the site at all.

Meta tags became a useful tool for website owners who were able to literally use them whether correctly or incorrectly to stack their sites in searches for high placement. To combat this action, two grad students named Serge Brin and Larry Page from Stanford came up with backrub, a search engine like application. Backrub used mathematical algorithm

Early SEO was mostly about descriptive file names and page titles, as time went on the content became more important to search engines, and content is king became wildly used. By 2003 the search engine became to use semantic elements in search results. This is still a new feature and confused many including those in the SEO arena.

Have a look online for blogs that provide information on SEO. If you look online you will find many blogs, not only finance blogs that provide finance advice, but also SEO relevant information on key SEO issues.

Google today is apparently against any use of black hat SEO tactics and punishes across the board any websites who appear to be using them. The sad part of this is that while they actively shut down and strip rank from websites who use these black hat techniques they themselves sell links and even profit by selling advertising to companies who do this for a business. This has not gone unnoticed by the SEO and web community at large.

An easy way to achieve good SERPS is by using Linkvana. Try Linkvana to access top quality Blogs.

SEO Analysed

What is SEO? Many people have no clue what it means or how to use it to help their websites gain readership and better placement in the rankings. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a website from the search engines that exist today by means of “natural” results. This means by honest traffic through honest searches and not by means of influencing of any type.

This influencing is sometimes called BLACK HAT SEO. Black hat SEO or spamdexing is done by use of link farms and key word stuffing. Keyword stuffing is the recurring placement of certain key words into a page or post so it influences the ranking. Using Black hat techniques will get your site taken off most search engines and is not suggested.

When a page or website has a high page rank, it means the website gets an earlier view in the search results page. The higher (earlier) you place in the search results the more prospective visitors to your website you will get for your particular search terms. This means that if you obtain income from page views you will increase your money. You will also be able to increase the amount of links coming to your site from other websites.

Getting good navigation throughout your website is crucial and many blogs such as essential finance or finance hub lead the way in smooth navigation from page to page. It is essential to link web pages together within the website. This allows the customer a smooth transition within the website.

SEO can target many different types of search, images, local (geographic search) and industry specific search called vertical search. This means that if you have content that is specific to one topic and images on the website they will both be gathered for search results. This can be a help to websites that are new but webmasters need to remember to tag the photos for proper indexing.

SEO has a main purpose in that it is used by website owners to see how their readers found them, seeing what terms were used to get to their website. When this information is understood the owner of the site or blog will then be able to change code on their websites to get better readership numbers as well as to respond to the searches behavior so as to increase site coverage. Doing this is called internet marketing.

No matter what type of presence you have on the internet, from web pages that are static to blogs that are kept on a daily basis, SEO is important to you and your site. The main thing all web site owners all share is the desire to have their content and sites be popular with readers, so it is to our benefit to understand as much as we can about SEO and how it can help us.

Linkvana is a good tool to use for quality Linkbuilding services.
