As an Internet consultant, strategist and developer for over 20 years, one of the greatest concerns I hear from my small business customers is that building traffic to their Web site is too great a task, particularly as more Web sites compete for online consumers and strategies have become more and more technical over the years. 

 

If you share these same concerns, my advice to you is to start where you’re comfortable, and grow from there.There are a number of activities you can start with to increase your Web site traffic that don’t require any Internet knowledge at all.  Here are three options:

 

Word-of-Mouth.  Tell everyone you know about your Web site.Strangely, people seem to overlook this easy yet powerful resource.Perhaps they think that their Web site is too simple compared to some of the more extensive sites they have seen. Others just disregard this valuable source of information for people interested in learning about your product or service. Take pride in your Web site and tell everyone why they should go visit it.

 

T-Shirts.  Have a black t-shirt made with your Web site address displayed in yellow, gold or silver.Before discovering this strategy, I would wear a suit at any speaking engagement or seminar I would attend. Now, instead, I wear a very nice long sleeve shirt with my HereNextYear logo embroidered on the front.  Along the back collar, www.HereNextYear.com displays. Whenever I attend a workshop, I make sure to sit in the front five rows toward the center. When I do, someone always comes up to me during the break to ask me about my business.   

 

Don’t skimp on quality here.It can be some of the most powerful and direct promotion you can invest in.. Get a stylish shirt and have an embroidery store reproduce a digital copy of your logo and Web site address.  It is one of the best investments you will make to spread the word about your Web site and build traffic. 

 

Give-a-Away Premiums.Give pencils, magnets, bumper stickers or other freebie gifts to anyone you see.The goal is to give something related to your Web site.  Dentists might give away toothbrushes, and financial advisors might hand out small calculators. Remember the whole point is to provide a reminder to your prospects and customers that your business exists. So be sure to display your Web site address on all those items.

 

Business Card.  Sure, you have probably been using business cards long before your Web site existed.  But the purpose of these business cards is to do nothing else but to get your prospective customers to visit you on the Web.  Consider offering a free report with information of value to your customers when they visit your site.Promote the report and the Web site address they should visit to receive it on your business card.Then, give a card to everyone you meet and tack it up on every public bulletin board you see.

 

True, there are many options for building traffic to your Web site, and many of them require some real time and skill.But keep in mind that many of the tried and true promotional strategies that people have been using for years are equally effective to build traffic to your Web site.Personal publicity can still be one of the best ways to build traffic, and it is simple to start using this plan of action immediately.

A Large increase in website traffic means profits can be made, while a decrease or an absence of website traffic will have a detrimental effect for your online business. You can have the best looking site in the world with the best products and information but if no one sees it then it is a waste of cyberspace.

It is important you write unique quality articles as duplicate content will not help but only hinder your progress. After you have written your article you can publish them on directories, blogs etc making sure you add appropriate links back to the websites you want to promote.

Over a period of time webmasters then pick up your articles to publish on their sites and more back links are created, and the best part is this advertising only costs you your time. Your Article Network should be worked on consistently and you will reap the benefits for years and years to come.

Video Marketing is all the rage and YouTube are one of several outlets in this area of advertising where you can gain free website traffic. Simply register a YouTube account in the name of your website and begin loading videos that are related to your websites content. You Tube makes it possible for anyone to create a video then upload it for the whole world to see. Just as you can create an article about anything to use for advertising your sites, you can do the same thing with video.

It is essential to attract quality traffic to your site. Without targeted visitors your site is virtually worthless. Don’t forget your goal is to get lots of customers who want to be on your site and get them to stay as long as possible to increase your chances of making money.

I have been using a new blog posting service, and so far I am impressed with the features.

I have so far submitted 18 articles in 13 days, and they have been placed on a total of 33 sites total between them already. If I can keep doing 1 article a day, this will be very viral.

The system has the built in article spinning system in place. You just paste in your article and title, keywords, and maybe a youtube video, and once you save it as draft, you can start using the automated spinner.

The auto spinner gives you a sentence from your post, and it gives you 10 more places to input alternate sentences. Using the auto spinner and giving each sentence an alternate sentence, each time your article is spun, it is over 100% unique or spun. Some of my titles are 900% spun.

The real power is when you edit the spinning manually after all your sentences, or before if you choose. You also get another level of spinning that lets you substitute words for one another inside each of the sentences being spun, giving you even more uniqueness for each blog post, all with your 3 links.

The content you submit is treated like a blog post as opposed to an article. There is no authors box, and your can place up to 3 links in each post, and if you change keywords and links in your spun text, you can do some deep linking with this system.

The other part of the system is getting content for your blog, you can add as many of your own blogs to receive content, you have control over whether they get published or not, just leave the links intact. One cool thing that happens when you approve an article, you get to leave feedback to the author anonymously. This is a great feature, I was able to let 1 author know that his spun titles weren’t coming out so great (bad spinning, his fault), and I asked another author for a specific keyworded article for one of my blogs.

Whether or not they see my messages remains to be seen, but the system as a whole is really looking good for affiliate marketing, you can use it for backlinks, or just put in your affiliate links, its up to you. I have tried to use a mix of both, since I have 3 links per post.

I would recommend this to anybody that wants to get more exposure for their blog or affiliate links thru article marketing.
