How To Promote Your First Website

How To Promote A Website

I made the classic mistake when making my first website, I assumed that as soon as I finished it and submitted it to the search engines I would start to make money. I’m not the only one who made that mistake, so what I want to do is talk you through promoting your first website so you don’t run into the same delays that I did.

When releasing your first website you want to get people viewing it straight away so hey can start talking about it and spreading the word. If you don’t know where to begin then I assure you that you will find this article informative and very helpful.

If this is your first website then you will have a lot to learn, I strongly suggest doing research on search engine optimization as soon as possible, but for now I will cover the vital topic of how to get your first visitors.

For the sake of it you might want to submit your website to the search engines as the sooner your website is found by google the better. You don’t have to submit it to the search engines as long as you start building links as google will find your website from crawling other sites.

Once you have completed the design and uploaded your main webpage’s you now want to get your first visitor, this can be done by submitting your website to social bookmark site where other internet users will see your website and take a look. Social bookmarking sites are designed for people to share webpage’s around the internet with one another and have them rated. By submitting your website to sites like dig.com and reddit.com you will have your first visitors in no time.

Eventually you will want to add a blog to your website so every time you write a new post it will be a good idea to submit it to the social bookmarking sites to gain instant exposure.

I suggest writing a couple of press releases about your new website and what you want to offer. There are allot of free press release sites that have a good reputation with google and have the ability to get your press released viewed by thousands of people. Theres a good press release site called free-press-release.com which offers free and paid press releases.

Another great way to gain instant traffic is by posting on forums, you can start a new thread and mention your product and website, you will want to try and find forums that are related to your website so the visitors will click your link and following it trough to your website.

Also at some point consider submitting your website to website directories and article directories.

There’s so many article floating around the internet on how to build up traffic and increase sales, make sure you do your research and read a few articles on each subject to get a good idea of what to do.

Free website ranking methods

How You Can Get Your Website Ranked For Your Easier Terms

This is a guide on how you can promote your website and get it ranked within the top 3 positions for your less competitive keywords at no cost what so ever. We will be using free methods to promote your links and promote your keyterms. All website owners have a bunch of keywords that they would like to get ranked number one for, some keywords are less competitive than others so what I suggest doing is if you haven’t got the time to promote your most competitive keywords then I would use an seo company to do that for you. I am going to teach you how to get your less competitive keywords ranked highly in google in the shortest period of time.

Lets assume you already have your list of keywords and have filtered out the most competitive ones and your now left with the least competitive ones. The first thing you must do before building any inbound links is to make sure your webpage has been optimized on-site for your keywords. The main places that comes to mind for best on-site optimization is the titles, on-page links, meta tags, alt tags, title tags and the main content itself, its best to add your keywords several times to the top section of your content as google only collects a certain amount of data from your site and if you have lots of content on that page then the googlebot will not make it to the bottom of your page.

Once you have completed your on-site optimization you then need some good quality inbound links from sites that have pagerank and/or relate to your websites content. One of the best places to start off is with social bookmarking, you should submit your sites pages to websites like digg.com or reddit.com with your keywords as the title, google crawls most social bookmarking sites all the time so it will come across those links the quickest. The next best place to start submitting your site to is general website directories as there are allot of them around and finding good ones can be easy, one of my favorite free website directories is called backlinkbuilder.co.uk and by submitting your site to thousands of website directories you should start to see your submissions approved within a few weeks. Directory submissions are great for SEO as there are such a vast amount of them to submit to making link building a bit easier, however I wouldn’t rely on directories to send you traffic as thats not what there known for anymore.

Just by submitting your site to social bookmarking sites and directories you should start to notice some positive results in the search engines, you can always try article submissions to help promote your keyterms aswel.

How To Get More Traffic To Your Blog

How To Get More Traffic To Your Blog

This is a free guide on how to get more traffic to your blog. Blogs are being used more and more now days, every website you come across will have a blog attached to it. People use blogs to increase traffic to there website as its one of the easiest ways of publishing unique content, and getting traffic to it from google without much work.

Every article you write will naturally be assigned weight to certain terms you use throughout your article, without knowing it you have optimized your article for particular keyterms and if they are not popular terms your post should get displayed on the first page of google and you will receive small amounts of traffic to it. The more article you write and publish the more traffic you will receive, you will only receive traffic for the less popular terms unless you promote your article to help get it ranked highly in google for harder terms.

With the traffic that comes to your blog you can implement ways of converting it to your main pages and then into sales. Having a blog and writing frequent content will help establish a name for yourself and make your website an authority site.

There are many methods on how to get more traffic to your blog and one of the most popular ways is by submitting it to social bookmark sites, this will help gain instant exposure and traffic in a short period of time. This is also a great way to promote your keyterms as you are producing high quality links from sites like dig.com and reddit.com which are favoured highly by google.

Another great way to help promote your keyterms and gain small amounts of traffic is by submitting your website to as many high quality blog directories as possible. When I mean high quality I mainly mean websites with good pagerank’s and reputations with google. You also want to find out the alexa rank of the directory you are submitting to as that will give you an idea of how much traffic that directory receives and how popular it is.

If you only submit your blog posts to good quality directories you will be helping to increase your Pagerank and in turn that will get you better results from google. Its quite easy to get your posts assigned a Pagerank just by submitting them to social bookmarking sites and directories, but remember to only get links from website that have a good Pagerank themselves.

Eventually your blog will receive so much traffic that you can start to make some serious money out of selling text links and using advertisements from places like adsense.com. Written by Michael David Tedder
